Extending the Life of Aging Assets
The right maintenance strategy is often about performing the right task at the right time. Asset Integrity Management (AIM) is a Paradigm Controls of Texas’s targeted, annual maintenance process that ensures that assets are safe, reliable, and efficient over their operating life.
Just as important to note is the hidden cost of (not performing) maintenance. Little or no maintenance contributes to equipment downtime and failure. As a result, organizations fail to meet their production quotas, directly impacting their profitability.
This year our field service crew at PCTX, led by our field service manager Jessie Lozano, was tasked with such a project. Located in a remote corner of west Texas our field service crew was involved in starting up a newly acquired and idled asset and bringing its state of readiness to the highest standards set out by both; best maintenance practices and those established by recognized testing agencies.
“The state of need was a result of the asset apparently sitting idle for years, and the scope of work required well over a week to complete for our customer. Our field service crews are always up for such a task and this was no exception. The value-added services of Paradigm’s field service department rose to the occasion and exceeded our customers’ expectations.” said Jessie.
The overall project scope was carried out on time, within budget, and repairs and upgrades were made to the electrical equipment sub-station, MV & LV Switchgear, and related MCC’s, VFD’s, Softsarts, and Transformers. Engaging Paradigm Controls saved the company capital expenditures and has given the company an extension of critical path equipment required for operations.
Another job well done for one of our valued customers!
